We collect nothing

Last updated 23 September 2026

SISD Family Table has no account, no sign-in and no server of its own. Nothing you or your children type, plan, photograph or cook is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to be sent. We could not see it if we wanted to.

What stays on your phone

Your preferences, your family's ages, your meal plans, your shopping lists, your cupboard, the recipes you save or import, what you have cooked and how you rated it, any photographs you scan, and from the Table the lines you keep ("Something someone said"), the conversation cards you have already seen, and when you last sat down to it or answered the evening card on the Plan tab, are all held in the app's own storage on your device. They are covered by your iPhone's own encryption, they are included in your iCloud device backup if you have one turned on, and they are deleted when you delete the app.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking, no identifiers, and no third-party SDK of any kind in this app. We do not know how many people use it, or who they are.

Children

The app is designed for families to use together and is not directed at children on their own. It asks for the ages of the children in the household, so that it can give a five-year-old and a twelve-year-old different jobs in a recipe, and choose conversation cards the youngest can join in. A five-year-old's job is never the hot part; a twelve-year-old may take a supervised turn at the hob or the oven, with a grown-up beside them; deep-frying is never a child's job. Those ages sit on your phone with everything else and never reach us. No name, photograph or school detail of any child is asked for, and no student information is involved in this app at all.

When your phone talks to someone else

There are two, and only two, times the app makes a network request, and both are because you asked it to:

Importing a recipe from a link. When you share or paste a link, your phone fetches that page directly from the site or platform you chose, and reads the public recipe text on it. That request goes to them, not to us, and carries nothing about you beyond what any browser visiting that page would send. The recipe is then stored on your device. We never see it.

Showing a preview picture. An imported recipe displays the post's own preview image from its original address. Nothing is copied to a server of ours, because there isn't one.

Scanning a recipe from a photograph is done entirely on the device using Apple's built-in text recognition. The photograph never leaves your phone.

Your rights

Because we hold nothing about you, there is nothing for us to show you, correct or delete. You are in complete control on the device: Preferences › Privacy & data › Export my data saves everything the app holds as a file you keep, and Erase everything removes it. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Changes

If this ever changes — if a future version gained a feature that genuinely needed a server — that version would say so plainly before you used it, and this page would be updated first.

Who to ask

The app is made and maintained by Craig Mackintosh, Assistant Head Pastoral, at Swiss International Scientific School Dubai. Email dkb16195@gmail.com with any question about this policy.
